GOLF FOUNDATION PROAM

On October 9th ETIQUS Founder Gary Butler joined others from the world of business, media and sport for the 31st running of the annual Golf Foundation Pro-Am. The event was supported by the European Tour and held once again on the fabulous Heritage Course at The London Club. This years fundraising was to help young people with disabilities to enjoy the playing and personal benefits of golf.

The 20 teams from around the country enjoyed a wonderfully organised event which concluded with a Prize Presentation lunch and Auction. The day raised over £15,000 for the nationally recognised charity which helps boys and girls to 'Start, Learn and Stay' in the game. It also encourages them to learn the valuable 'Skills for Life' associated with the game.

With a score of 91 and -19 under, Pro Wraith Grant guided the all-women’s team of ‘PGA Ladies’ to a memorable victory, with Maureen Roberts, Di Horsley and Debbie Allmey, who are all great supporters of the Foundation, receiving the loudest applause of the day for their terrific win.

Once again an added feature to the day was the ETIQUS Charity 'Nearest the Pin' Challenge on the intimidating 159 yard Par 3 7th hole requiring a brave shot across the water to a tricky green. The challenge was won by Huw Bennett who as a strength and conditioning coach for the Welsh Rugby Union had more than enough power to carry his golfball to within two feet of the pin. Huw chose an ETIQUS Sport Tour with a summer white dial and stainless steel bracelet as his prize. Well done Huw and thanks to everyone who supported the event and raised such a good sum of money for such a great cause.
